Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (EP/Cath Lab Technologist)

Overview Purpose of Position: The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist is responsible for providing quality care in a Cath Lab environment and a positive interpersonal experience for the patient. Responsibilities Assist the Physicians in all aspects of invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters in accordance to policy and procedure. Assist in diagnostic interventional procedures operating interventional and other equipment/devices as appropriate. Assume care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures to insure safety and comfort while preparing for and undergoing interventional procedures. Provide explanation of procedures and answer patient questions to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Transfer patients onto medical equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity. Set up sterile tray, clean and dispose after procedure. Participate in activities which promote professional self-growth and development. Assist physician with administration of contrast media. Assist in maintaining inventory for the department. Responsible for all aspects of Electrophysiology (EP) program (applies to EP Tech only job code 8148 & 8149). Keep current of new developments in EP (applies to EP Tech only job code 8148 & 8149). Responsible for preventative maintenance of interventional equipment. Clean interventional equipment. Perform routine safety checks and inspections of equipment to ensure these are current, in good order and ready for use. Perform other work related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications – Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist I Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology Associate's degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab BLS - Current Basic Life Support certification ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within) IABP – Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course (complete within 6 months, offered within) Qualifications – Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (RCIS) Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology Associate's degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab BLS - Current Basic Life Support certification ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within) IABP – Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course (complete within 6 months, offered within) RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification Qualifications – Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (EP) Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology Associate's degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: EP – Completion of EP training program 5 years recent experience (within the past 7 years) as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab BLS - Current Basic Life Support certification ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within) IABP – Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course (complete within 6 months, offered within) Qualifications – Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist III Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology Associate's degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab Must meet at least one of the following qualifications: RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification 5 years recent experience (within the past 5 years) in Cardiovascular EP EP – Completion of an EP Training Program BLS - Current Basic Life Support certification ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within) IABP – Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course (complete within 6 months, offered within) Schedule & Additional Details Schedule Details: 30 hrs per week, 7a-5p, Rot Weekends & Rot Holidays, On call required for nights, weekends and holidays in rotation. Use of lead apron required. Cath lab / EP / IR training and rotation required. Training will be provided on site. Sign-On Bonus Eligible!
