Ford Drivability & Smog Technician

Corning Ford | Corning, CA

The Opportunity Are you an expert diagnostician with an active CA Smog License? Corning Ford is expanding our service team! We are looking for a high-level Ford Drivability Technician to diagnose and repair complex engine performance and emissions issues.

What You Will Do

• Advanced Diagnostics: Identify and resolve complex drivability, electrical, and engine performance issues using scan tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Smog Inspections: Perform professional Smog Test and Repair services using OIS and BAR-97 equipment.
• Technical Repairs: Execute warranty and non-warranty repairs to Ford factory standards.
• Quality Control: Conduct multi-point inspections, test-drive vehicles, and communicate mechanical diagnoses clearly to Service Advisors.

What You Need (Requirements)

• Experience: 2+ years of technician experience at a Ford Dealership is strictly required .
• Licensing: A current California Smog License (EO/EI) is required . Must also have a valid CA driver’s license with a clean record.
• Certifications (Preferred): Ford Certification in drivability/tune-up/smog and ASE Certifications (A6, A8, L1) are highly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year ($35.00 - $45.00 per hour, based on experience).
