Police Officer Position Applications for the Competitive Class of Police Officer are being accepted by the Bossier City Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board. Applications may be obtained from the Bossier City Police Department Personnel Office, 620 Benton Road, Bossier City, Louisiana, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–3:00 PM. Qualifications: Starting monthly salary of $3,548 plus incentives. Must meet all requirements of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Law, including being a citizen of the United States and of legal age. After offer but before beginning work, must pass a physical examination demonstrating good health and physical fitness to perform essential duties. Must possess one of the following: high school equivalency certificate, high school transcript, affidavit from the issuing high school, associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or college transcript. Any degree must indicate graduation or an award. Louisiana applicants presenting a home study diploma must submit documentation indicating BESE approval of the curriculum. Non-Louisiana applicants must present proof of completion of a high school curriculum accredited by their state or state agency. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must attach copies of the following documents to the signed application: proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate if born in the U.S., certificate of naturalization, or U.S. passport), proof of educational requirement, copy of birth certificate verifying age. All applications must be dated and have original signature; the Board does not accept faxed or copied signature applications.
