PRN Urgent Care Office Nurse I LPN/RMA/CMA

General Summary The Office Nurse (LPN) delivers quality, compassionate patient care in the clinic, adhering to Holston Medical Group’s quality practice standards, policies, procedures, and customer service expectations. As a member of the clinical staff, the Office Nurse proactively identifies patient needs, implements improvement methodologies, and serves as a primary source of health education under the Patient‑Centered Medical Home model. Main Responsibilities Use patient‑first values in assisting patients with needs Greet patients with compassion and a friendly face Accurately assess and record patient vital signs in an electronic database Prepare patients for examinations Serve as a Health Educator as directed in the Patient‑Centered Medical Home model Obtain prior authorizations and pre‑certifications for procedures or tests as needed Dispose of contaminated supplies and used items Sterilize medical instruments as required Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked for patient use Maintain supplies and equipment, proactively work with co‑workers to restock Attend nurse meetings and other educational opportunities May be transferred to other offices upon request based on business needs on an occasional basis Pick up vaccines and medications as needed Mail normal labs to patients and notify patients with abnormal labs Perform customer service checks on patients every 10 minutes Change sharps containers and biohazard trash Follow policies and procedures set by Holston Medical Group Maintain communication with providers to address patient needs Communicate all office issues with the Nurse Manager and Regional Operations Manager Ensure equipment is in operating order (crash cart, defibrillator, autoclave, etc.) Mentor new nursing staff and orient them to the office Maintain Health Department vaccination records for children Maintain clinical area to meet site visit standards Maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel and patient PHI Enroll patients in myHMG as directed Provide Direct Colon Screening Education / Experience / Knowledge High school diploma or equivalent required LPN license in the state of employment 0–2 years of LPN experience CPR certification Excellent communication skills Ability to work in a team and collaborate with others Key Competencies Compassion Customer Focus Ethics and Values Learning on the Fly Functional/Technical Skills Problem Solving Informing We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
