SERVICE TECHNICIAN (FULL TIME)

Job Summary Repairs, maintains and assists in the installation of vending machines and equipment. Location Canteen Grand Rapids - 5695 West River Dr, Belmont, MI 49306. Note: online applications accepted only. Work Schedule Full time schedule. Monday through Friday. Rotating weekends on call. 1st shift, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. More details upon interview. Compensation Pay Range: $25.60 per hour to $28.44 per hour. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot snack, beverage, fresh food, and coffee equipment issues at customer locations. Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and part replacements on vending and refreshment equipment in accordance with company service standards. Manage and maintain service van inventory by organizing parts, tracking usage, and ensuring necessary repair components are available. Utilize handheld technology and service software to document diagnostics, repairs completed, parts used, and customer interactions accurately. Respond to dispatch calls for machine repairs using company-owned vehicle. Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; listen to and resolve service complaints. Visually inspect and assess machines to determine causes of malfunctions; dismantle machines to gain access to problem area. Inspect parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems; remove and replace worn or defective parts; repair broken parts; realign and adjust components; test machine operation following repair. Review inventory and order parts; ship and receive machines; maintain equipment inventory. Prepare machines for installation at accounts; assist in installations and removals. Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools, such as drills, grinders and welding torches, for machine repair. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Previous maintenance and mechanical experience and knowledge are required. Previous electrical or plumbing experience is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license.
