The role includes participation in investigations of member-centric and systemic quality of care concerns. It ensures member health and well-being through timely, thorough, and accurate investigations. Vendor-specific corrective action plans are established utilizing a standardized process. Appropriate referrals to oversight and regulatory agencies must be made when necessary. Participation in care concerns, needed care, and member issues as assigned is required. Maintaining documentation to support casework is crucial. Requesting appropriate documentation for quality-of-care investigations is essential. Comprehensive case records must be maintained to support allegation review and substantiation levels. It is important to appropriately elevate cases and/or trend concerns to a supervisor. Skills in critical thinking and the use of technology, including databases, are necessary. Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, email, and electronic referral and verification sources is required. Ability to produce professional technical reports and letters is essential. Research and analysis skills are necessary for this role. Oral and written communication skills are critical for effective interaction. Personal planning, organization, and time management skills are essential. Medical chart review experience is necessary. Familiarity with the nursing process, including assessment, monitoring, and evaluation, is required. Decision-making skills are critical to analyze problems effectively and develop corrective action plans. This position primarily works remotely, with potential requirements to report in person as needed. Starting at 40 hours per week, cases are assigned between 8 AM and 8 PM. Assignments may occur any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Work will eventually shift to an as-needed basis. The team will provide details about training, assignment timelines, and shift arrangements once finalized. Review and documentation of complex needs, synthesis of information from multiple sources, and clear rationale are necessary. Reviewing assessment and available supporting records, and communicating with health care decision-makers is required. Experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities and complex medical or behavioral needs is valuable. Actual hours depend on case volume, staffing, and readiness for review. Each case may take 1-3 hours for review and documentation. Turnaround time from receipt is typically 48 hours, with potential for additional time in extenuating circumstances. All candidates should possess the necessary qualifications and maintain an active license.
