JOB SUMMARY The Terminal Operator performs routine terminal operations under close supervision, following established procedures and safety standards to support the safe handling, storage, and transfer of petroleum products. Responsibilities include product gauging, valve lineups, tank inspections, data entry, facility inspections, and assisting with truck, rail, marine, and pipeline operations. This entry-level position focuses on developing technical knowledge and operational skills while maintaining compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety requirements. This role operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule based on a modified Dupont pattern. Job Profile Summary Follows instructions and utilizes standard practices and procedures to develop resolutions to problems of limited scope. Duties are typically repetitive or routine in nature and work is closely supervised. Assignments are provided with little reliance on self-direction. Contributions are usually limited to assignment-related activities and require little to no decision-making. Still acquiring an understanding of the technical aspects of the job skills. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Gauges petroleum products transferred to and from tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines; includes barges or other vessels at a marine facility Performs valve lineups, switch and tank changes as required to move petroleum products in and out of storage tanks. Works diligently and follows all safety requirements to prevent product contamination, spills and avoid product loss. Inputs product information into terminal automation programs, including ATLAS, TopTech and other systems applications as required. Performs tank inspections, make analyses of tank contents and prepare records as required, make routine daily inspection of facilities. Maintains location appearance, repair and replace equipment, maintain facility in exemplary compliance. May perform other general maintenance responsibilities as directed. Assists drivers and customers, performs vessel, truck and rail rack operations duties as assigned. Responsible for other projects and assignments as directed. Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Education H.S.
