Job Duties:

Help keep our campus looking its best! The Groundskeeper maintains campus lawns landscaping trees planting areas walkways roadways and parking lots throughout the year. This hands-on position uses a variety of grounds and snow-removal equipment and performs landscaping planting lawn care snow and ice removal and other seasonal maintenance.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies and acts to remedy plant diseases and insect damage

• Implements and monitors chemical and fertilizer programs

• Installs propagates and maintains the health of new and existing plants and landscape using a variety of vehicles and equipment

• Maintains clean and clear lawns walkways roadways and parking lots to ensure they are free of debris litter snow and ice

• Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading seeding and sodding

Department: Facilities Management Building

Compensation: $17.00

Scheduled Hours:

Monday to Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent GED
• Holdandmaintainavalid Drivers License

Physical Demands:

Must be able to climb ladders scaffolding and rooftop access stairs. Required to carry tools and parts often weighing 50 pounds or more. Use ropes and pulleys to hoist tools and parts to installation elevations. Ability to tolerate working in areas where temperature may exceed 85 degrees of atmospheric temperature or may drop below 20 degrees of atmospheric temperature. Proper and safe tool utilization requires dexterity and mobility of hands and arms. Long periods of standing sitting kneeling walking and computer work are possible.
