Note: Candidates must have 4+ years of directly relevant civil litigation experience, a Juris Doctor degree, and an active California Bar license. Significant hands-on experience taking and defending depositions, handling court appearances and mediations, drafting and opposing motions, and independently managing litigation matters is essential. Job Description Manage litigation matters from case opening through resolution. Counsel clients regarding legal strategy, risks, and recommended courses of action. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Prepare and respond to written discovery. Draft motions, oppositions, briefs, memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents. Attend hearings, court appearances, mediations, conferences, and other proceedings. Review discovery materials and develop effective litigation strategies. Research statutes, case law, and court rulings and identify potential legal risks. Prepare comprehensive trial briefs and other trial materials. Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings. Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and matter status from opening through close. Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and strategy. Collaborate closely with attorneys and legal support professionals. Meet an annual billable requirement of approximately 1,900 hours. Qualifications 4+ years of civil litigation experience. Active California Bar license required. Juris Doctor degree required. Significant experience taking and defending depositions. Strong experience with discovery, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances. Construction defect, general liability, personal injury, or business litigation experience strongly preferred. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, persuasion, and negotiation skills. Ability to independently manage litigation matters and competing deadlines. Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills. Strong organization, judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail. Administrative or managerial experience preferred.
