Assembler JobPosition: AssemblerLocation: Atlanta, GA / Irving, TX (Onsite)Duration: W2 / C2C ContractExperience: 8+ YearsJob DescriptionProficiency in IBM Assembler Language, with strong knowledge and experience in writing and debugging assembler programs.Expertise to use tools like IBM Debug Tool or equivalent debugging utilities effectively.Skills in optimizing assembler code for better performance and ability to convert to other mainframe languages (COBOL, PL/1) that are used in conjunction with Assembler.Experience in JCL (Job control language) for job submission and file handling in mainframe environments.Familiarity with IBM z/OS and related environments.Knowledge of databases and data management systems (DB2) Precision in problem-solving, coding, troubleshoot and debugging skills.Effective team collaboration and communications skillsKnowledge of other low-level languages such as C or C++ is a plus.System Z - CICS System Administration, System Z - TPF, System Z - VSAM, System Z - Enterprise COBOL, System Z - JCLResponsibilitiesWrite, test, and maintain high quality assembler code for mainframe applications.Ensure code meets functional and performance requirements. Create and maintain clear documentation for code, process, and system interactions.Work closely with other developers, system analysts and project managers to understand requirements.Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions.Write and manage JCL scripts for job submissions, data processing and system operations.Ensure code complies with organizational standards and best practices for security, performance and maintainability.Responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining assembler language.Role requires a strong understanding of computer architecture, memory management, and processor operations.Candidate will work closely with systems developers to ensure efficient and optimized software that meets system performance goals
