Responsibilities Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, & supervision of the Produce team. Effectively coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, & teamwork. Maintain freshness standards throughout the department, following proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of a complete variety of items. Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive. Assist in hiring, teaching, training, & developing the Produce team. Unload & sort store deliveries, operate and maintain produce equipment. Ensure execution of all company health, safety, & sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Produce team members are also aware of and following these procedures. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, then we want to hear from you! Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age and have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures. Be dependable & reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including night, weekends, & holidays. Show an outgoing & friendly behavior, a positive attitude, & ability to interact with our customers. Have good communication skills, and the ability to take direction & participate in a team environment. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean & sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.). Adhere to all safety, health, Weights and Measures regulations including COOL, and achieve & maintain a Food Handlers permit. Be able to perform standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and lift, stack & maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4" to 72", for a distance up to 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance. Be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets a distance up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds for up to 5 hours.
