Math Teacher 7th-8th

Crescent Academy is currently hiring for a Math Teacher for grades 7th - 8th. Crescent Academy serves over 500 students at grade level PreK-12. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for teaching. This position requires an individual who can create engaging lesson plans, foster a love for math, and provide instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive math lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations. Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives. Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution. Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff Regular and predictable attendance Cognitive Demands Supervision of multiple students at once Establishing routines and procedures Maintaining a safe and orderly environment Create and implement instructional plans Participate in continuous professional development Effective oral and written communication skills Physical Demands Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs Stand and walk frequently Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year Withstand a moderate noise level Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary Assist/lift students, as necessary Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities. Strong knowledge of math curriculum and state standards. Minimum Qualifications Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Mathematics endorsement preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum of three years of successful secondary mathematics teaching experience. Demonstrated expertise in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and higher-level mathematics courses. Experience analyzing student achievement data and implementing intervention programs. Strong knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards and state assessment requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics. Ability to coach and support teachers effectively. Expertise in data‑driven instructional practices. Knowledge of MTSS, differentiated instruction, and intervention strategies. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners. Proficiency in educational technology and student data systems. Work Schedule School‑year position with additional responsibilities during summer planning, curriculum development, professional learning, and assessment periods as assigned.
