The Victor Bar is an intimate, Parisian-inspired cocktail bar in North Center. No kitchen, no food program the drinks are the whole point, and we build them properly: house syrups and cordials, fresh garnish, batching, and a spec book we actually hold to.
We're looking for bartenders who care about the craft and can execute it at volume. You know your classics cold, you work clean and fast, and you take care of guests without a script.
What you'll do:
- Build cocktails to house spec, consistently, on busy nights
- Run daily prep: syrups, cordials, batches, garnish
- Read the room welcome guests, make recommendations, keep service warm and timely
- Keep your station tight through service; wash and polish at close
- Ring orders accurately, handle payments, and check out with a manager
- Check IDs and serve responsibly under federal, Illinois, and Chicago law including refusing service when the law requires it
- Open and close to SOP
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years behind the bar, at least 2 in a craft cocktail program
- Fluency in the classics and a real working knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
- Speed and consistency in a high-volume room
- Warm, professional, reliable, and easy to work with
- 21+ with BASSET certification, or able to obtain it before your first shift
- Able to stand for full shifts and lift up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Available nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation: $12.96/hour plus tips. If base wage plus tips doesn't reach Chicago's full minimum wage in any workweek, we pay the difference in accordance with the Chicago Minimum Wage Ordinance.
