Drug And Alcohol Counselor (DAC)Location: Philadelphia, PA 19144Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PMPay Rate: $23–$33/hourStart Date: ASAPAbout the Program: Recovery Through Work is a workforce development and peer support program serving individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. The program operates on a rotating schedule across three Merakey sites in Philadelphia.Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Drug and Alcohol Counselor (DAC) to join our team. The counselor will support participants on their recovery and employment journeys by providing vocational guidance, peer support, and access to training and community resources.Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of individuals in recovery seeking workforce reentryConduct intake assessments and develop individualized career navigation plansSupport participants with job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparationConnect clients to community resources for training, certifications, and employmentMaintain accurate documentation and data entry in electronic health records (EHR)Travel between three Merakey sites on a rotating scheduleProvide ongoing one-on-one peer support and counselingRequirements:Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor (or equivalent based on state regulations)Experience working with individuals in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disordersStrong organizational and administrative skills, including EHR documentationAbility to travel locally between Merakey sitesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsKnowledge of vocational services, local training programs, and workforce development resources is a plusWhy Join Us?Meaningful work supporting recovery and reintegrationCollaborative team environmentOpportunities for professional developmentCompetitive hourly payIf you're passionate about supporting individuals on their recovery and employment journey, we'd love to hear from you!
