Step into a key support role as a Paraprofessional / Classroom Assistant, working alongside a Virtual Special Education Teacher in a high school setting focused on dropout recovery. This contract opportunity provides the chance to make a real impact by helping students re-engage with their education in a positive, supportive environment. The position is based onsite and begins as soon as possible, extending through June 22, 2026.

As the onsite facilitator for a virtual educator, you’ll bring structure and guidance to the classroom, ensuring students receive the attention and resources they need. Your contributions will be vital in helping young learners overcome barriers to graduation.

Qualifications:

• Valid ODE Paraprofessional certification required
• Experience supporting high school students welcomed
• Familiarity with special education or alternative education environments is beneficial
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to provide encouragement and maintain a calm, positive presence in the classroom

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the in-person support for a virtual special education teacher
• Assist students with daily lessons and activities
• Monitor classroom engagement and behavior
• Help reinforce individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed
• Prepare and organize materials to support learning
• Communicate with the virtual teacher about student progress and needs
• Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom atmosphere
