JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pans and cooking equipment. Will also be required to keep the dishwashing areas and equipment clean and organized.POSITION AUTHORITY:The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.POSITION GUIDELINES:Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assume 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishwareLoad, run and unload the dish machineKeep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediatelyMonitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycleClean and sanitize all pots, pans, and equipment partsWash and store all tableware and kitchenwareKeep dishwashing area clean and organizedMaintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchenBag and haul trash to dumpsterHandle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and lossMaintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning suppliesClean food preparation and production areas as requiredBe available to fill in as needed to unsure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurantAttend all scheduled meeting and bring suggestions for improvementAny and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody GardensEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:No prior experience requiredMust obtain Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning workREQUIRED SKILLS:Must be reliable and responsibleMust have a positive attitude and work well as part of a teamAbility to work unsupervised and in a fast paced kitchenAbility to communicate effectively with Managers, Kitchen staff, and dining room personnelMust be willing to follow directions and ask for clarification if neededPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand for long periods of timeAbility to perform tasks that require reaching, bending, stooping and liftingAbility to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds many times per dayAbility to work in hot, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time #J-18808-Ljbffr Moody-Gardens,-Inc.-Resort-and-Attractions
