Financial Consulting Manager - Gaming & Hospitality

Manager, Accounting and Finance Consulting (AFC) PracticeRSM's Accounting and Finance Consulting (AFC) practice with a focus in Gaming and Hospitality Financial Advisory is looking for a Manager. The changing economic landscape, new accounting pronouncements, evolving tax regulations and the acceleration of automation adoption initiatives mean casino gaming and hospitality enterprises face an ever-changing business landscape.Our industry focus includes casino and online gaming operators, integrated resorts, and hospitality operators across multiple jurisdictions throughout the country.The Gaming and Hospitality Consulting Manager provides a variety of financial consulting services to clients. The types of consulting services provided may include, but are not limited to:Technical accounting and accounting support to business operationsBusiness process improvement and internal controls assessmentsAdvisory projects, such as: organizational structure analysis, profit enhancement, cash management, and profitability analysis studiesProcess improvement and policy and procedure documentationPrimary clients are gaming entities across the country, including large commercial gaming resorts, casinos, and Indian gamingProvide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the consulting work plan and client deliverablesDevelop an understanding of the client's business and industry and begin to recognize key performance drivers, trends and developmentsActively participate with engagement team and function as an in-charge and go-live lead, facilitating fieldwork by monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan schedules on assignments as well as critically solve client and adoption challengesSupport the execution and completion of various client deliverablesIdentify performance improvement opportunitiesUnderstand RSM's service lines and work as a team in providing an integrated service deliveryRecognize and inform management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clientsBasic Qualifications:Minimum of 5+ years business experience or 5+ years in public accounting/consulting services (emphasis in the casino and hospitality accounting or operations a plus)Advanced written and verbal communication skillsStrong internal control skills and experience in developing and improving internal control systemsStrong technical and functional accounting experience in US GAAP and/or IFRS for public or private companies, with experience in financial reporting, and hands-on support and research to solve technical accounting matters with AJE and reconciliations as neededProven ability to manage staff on projects of varying sizes, along with a passion for developing and retaining talentDemonstrated leadership experienceMust have demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with business associates and industry groups, including strong presentation, communication and rapport building skillsAbility to travel approximately 75-80%CPA certificationPreferred Qualifications:Experience in working on project teams related to one or more of the following areas: accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis and consultation, new accounting standard implementation, financial automation technologies automation and consulting services to similar industriesA BS/BA in Accounting or related working experienceExperience and personality to diffuse difficult customer situationsAbility to function independently, prioritize and act as a mentor to junior staffCPA strongly preferred or related work experience
