Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 0 years License: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), STABLE, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Must-Have: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must successfully pass a background check. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test if applicable. Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment. Description: To coordinate and implement an individualized plan of care for each patient using the nursing process. Practice within the scope, standards, policies, values, and mission of the organization. Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes. Maximizes available resources and requires prioritization and critical thinking skills. Exhibits decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Complies with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines. Utilizes evidence-based practices to collaborate with the healthcare team for quality outcomes. Coordinates patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs. Identifies barriers to effective communication considering psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural factors. Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides appropriate education. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. Practices according to professional and ethical standards as noted in the applicable Code of Ethics and Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships. Engages in patient and family teaching as appropriate. Demonstrates full commitment to the organization's values and represents the organization positively. Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication. Fosters positive relationships with patients, staff, and vendors. Adheres to organizational attire and dress code policies. Exhibits initiative and self-motivation while maintaining productivity. Completes all required annual education, training, and licensure updates. Actively participates in departmental and organizational meetings. Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times. Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes. Contributes to departmental performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintains adherence to standards. Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
