Maintenance Mechanic III

HVAC/R Technician

Pay Range: $28.02/hr - $33.02/hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• 1+ years of formal training and work experience/responsibility in the field of commercial or industrial HVAC/R system maintenance.
• Proficiency in all aspects of maintenance of HVAC/R system equipment.
• Certification by the Federal EPA for operation of refrigerant reclaiming equipment and for proper usage and disposal of all refrigerants is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Work on HVAC/R systems and equipment and control systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform all required tasks to return the equipment to operation in a timely manner.
• Provide skilled trade maintenance support to the manufacturing, R&D, and office facilities.
• Independently perform and understand hardware, operating systems, and maintenance work on a variety of HVAC/R equipment and systems.
• Work as a multi-skilled tradesperson, doing mechanical, pipefitting, building maintenance, and/or other work on special assignments.
• Ensure that GMP and safe work policies and procedures are followed.
• Participate in work group team meetings and actively look for methods to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Perform troubleshooting, ordering parts, and installation of parts and materials on HVAC/R equipment.
• Perform preventative and demand maintenance work on all types of plant HVAC/R equipment.
• Install bearings, seals, belts, gaskets, etc. on HVAC/R equipment utilizing various gauges and tools.
• Perform mechanical overhauls and preventive maintenance work on HVAC equipment.
• Understand HVAC/R control theory and application to air handling systems.
• Perform brazing and/or soldering of heating and cooling coils.
• Evaluate the use of various resources and make knowledgeable decisions regarding safety and company standards.
• Know CMMS functions that pertain to refrigeration maintenance, PM, and related activities.
