Activities Assistant
Join our dynamic team at AdviniaCare Newport, a premier provider of senior living and care services. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and directing daily events and programming for our residents. This full-time opportunity is perfect for someone who is passionate about creating engaging experiences for seniors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and coordinating events and activities programming
- Build relationships with residents to understand their interests and tailor programming to their desires
- Organize group and individual activities, including arts & crafts, performances, and other events
- Generate creative ideas to excite and encourage residents to participate in programming
- Encourage residents to engage in activities that promote physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being
- Document and report any unusual or significant findings
- Report all reportable events immediately
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with residents of varying maturity levels and needs
- Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance with facility privacy practices policies and procedures
- Ability to participate in continuing education and inservice training
