Field Service Engineer
Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial automation equipment at customer sites. The role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of machines and control systems, providing technical support, and continuously improving system performance. The ideal candidate combines strong electrical and mechatronic fundamentals with practical experience in PLCs, HMI, machine vision, robotics, and motion control. Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and startup industrial automation systems and machinery at customer locations, ensuring system performance meets specifications and safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, control, and mechanical faults on-site, including PLC, HMI, servo drives, motion controllers, and robotic systems.
- Program, configure, and optimize PLCs and HMIs using platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi to improve reliability and cycle times.
- Integrate and troubleshoot machine vision systems, sensors, and feedback devices to ensure accurate inspection and guidance functions.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, calibrations, and system upgrades; develop and maintain detailed service records and reports.
- Support SCADA and industrial network communications, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, and other common industrial protocols.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and production staff to identify root causes and implement corrective actions and long-term improvements.
- Provide customer training and technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven field service or industrial automation experience working with PLCs and HMIs; hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, and/or Mitsubishi platforms highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of machine vision and robotics integration, including setup, tuning, and troubleshooting inspection systems.
- Experience with servo systems, motion control, and electromechanical components used in modern automated machinery.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus), and control system cybersecurity best practices.
- Proficient reading and interpreting electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and control logic.
- Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites and work flexible hours when required; valid driver's license and ability to travel internationally when needed.
