Fire Sprinkler Designer

Job Description We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, and preferably NYC building codes. This role involves working on various project types, including commercial, industrial, mixed-use, educational, and medical facilities, and requires occasional travel to project sites. The designer will report to the Lead Engineer and utilize advanced design software such as AutoCAD, Sprink-CAD, Autosprink, and HydraCAD. Responsibilities Design fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems Develop system layouts and ensure code compliance Review and approve fire protection plans Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation Collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and project teams Conduct technical analysis to optimize system performance Ensure quality assurance standards are met throughout design phases Coordinate design efforts with BIM integration Communicate clearly with clients regarding design and project status Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler system design Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and NFPA 20 standards Experience with fire sprinkler and fire standpipe system design Proficiency in AutoCAD and related design software Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication abilities Company Description A & F Fire Protection Co., Inc. is a fire sprinkler and fire standpipe contractor offering full turnkey service including design, fabrication, installation, service and approvals.
