Distribution Center Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to lead the daily operations of our distribution center. In this role, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, meeting financial and productivity goals, ensuring inventory accuracy, and leading a team of managers and supervisors in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day distribution center operations.
• Develop and implement operational plans to achieve company performance and financial goals.
• Plan warehouse layout and storage strategies to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
• Manage warehouse budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance.
• Oversee production planning and workflow across all warehouse departments.
• Ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories.
• Analyze inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving or excess inventory.
• Develop work schedules and allocate resources to meet operational demands.
• Create and improve standard operating procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and warehouse staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide employee coaching and corrective action when necessary.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
• Resolve employee concerns and operational issues in a timely manner.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Directly manage 4–12 department managers.
• Provide leadership for managers overseeing 50–100 warehouse employees across multiple departments.
• Lead workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and operational execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• 3–5 years of leadership experience in distribution, warehouse, or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of distribution center operations and inventory management.
• Experience managing multiple departments and large teams.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs as needed.
• Ability to work in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.
