Director of Merchandising (Women's Contemporary)

Our client is seeking an experienced merchandising leader to support product strategy, assortment planning, and execution across multiple channels within the apparel business. This role will work cross-functionally to help guide seasonal product direction, align business priorities, and support overall brand and financial objectives. The position will oversee areas such as line planning, market analysis, product lifecycle coordination, and performance review. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, has strong merchandising judgment, and can balance creative thinking with analytical decision-making. Key responsibilities include developing and managing assortment plans, partnering with teams across design, planning, sales, production, and marketing, analyzing business trends and performance, maintaining product development tools and presentations, and supporting pricing, positioning, and channel strategies. This person will also help ensure accurate systems management, cross-functional alignment, and timely execution of seasonal initiatives. Qualified candidates should have extensive experience in contemporary apparel merchandising, buying, or a related area, along with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Experience with wholesale channels, product development processes, and business systems is preferred.
