Sports & Recreation Manager

The Salvation Army Kroc Center is hiring a Sports & Fitness Program Manager! We are looking for an energetic, dynamic leader to design, build, and direct our sports leagues, fitness activities, and recreation programs for youth and adults. COMPENSATION & HOURS Salary: $70,304 – $70,720 / year Role: Full-Time | Includes Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities & closing shifts in the Gymnasium WHAT YOU’LL DO Own the Playbook: Develop, schedule, and run high-energy adult & youth leagues (basketball, soccer, volleyball, pickleball, climbing, Tiny Tikes, and more). Build the Team: Recruit, hire, train, and mentor staff, referees, scorekeepers, and volunteers. Drive the Energy: Direct all game-day operations, foster community partnerships with local schools, and deliver top-tier customer service. Manage Operations: Oversee program budgets, registrations, point-of-sale systems, and gym operations. Exemplify the Mission: Serve as a leader within the Kroc Center management team, championing our values and mission daily. WHAT YOU BRING Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience working with youth (sports, recreation, or camp environment). 1+ year of experience creating, scheduling, and executing sports/recreation programs. CPR/PR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to stay active, participate in games, and lift up to 50 lbs. Preferred: Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field. 1+ year of supervisory leadership experience. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
