In this role, the selected candidate focus on delivering high-quality technical products and cost and schedule performance in support of upcoming Artemis missions. The candidate will also be responsible for staff development, collaborating with Lockheed senior management, and coordinating with customer representatives.Manages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Basic QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering or equivalent work experienceExperience with NASA requirements for human rated spacecraftProven performance in a mechanical engineering field such as Structures Design, Mechanisms Design, Stress Analysis, or equivalentStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsDesired SkillsPrior experience as a technical lead, CPE, or managerDemonstrated full section Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, and delivering valuePrior experience driving engineering products to closure on NASA’s Orion program or another NASA human rated programProficient with CAD, mechanisms, or analysis tools such as CREO, Adams, or NastranAbility and desire to assume ownership of tasks and quickly and efficiently drive to closureWillingness to mentor and develop junior engineersPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
