An excellent opportunity is available for a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to cover a maternity leave at an elementary school from August through November. This full-time contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment near Addison, IL.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois SLP or SLPA license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required for SLPs
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Enthusiasm for supporting young learners’ speech and language growth
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary students according to IEPs and district policies
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and school teams to develop and implement appropriate intervention strategies
- Maintain detailed documentation, progress notes, and data collection for each student
- Participate in IEP meetings, team consultations, and student evaluations as needed
- Support students’ overall educational experience by addressing speech, language, and communication challenges
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions
