Controls Engineer

Salary: $92,700 - 154,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering in Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical, plus 2 years of related experience for the Mid-level E02 Engineer
• Bachelors degree in Engineering in Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical, plus 5 years of technical or related engineering experience for the Senior E03 Engineer
• Ability to maintain minimum access requirements, where applicable, and pass favorable medical examination and/or testing in line with job duties
• Strong preference for a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of Siemens T3K and control systems
• Experience with engineering support for Operations and Maintenance troubleshooting and controls-related issues

• Deliver advanced technical and engineering problem-solving in support of power plant operations and serve as a technical resource for engineers
• Provide expert consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system issues, including direct involvement as a subject matter expert
• Complete assigned skills and knowledge development training and build expert-level capability in designated areas
• Mentor other engineers and demonstrate proficiency in leading cross-functional initiatives at an asset or plant level
• Lead short- and long-term engineering and technical programs that affect site operations
• Carry out assigned engineering work using sound engineering principles
• Ensure work accuracy, completeness, timeliness, configuration management, and compliance with established design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes
• Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to support technical projects and programs
• Recommend equipment, concepts, and techniques that improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material issues, or align with code and regulatory changes
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including department coverage, call-outs, and outage support activities
• Support projects through design, installation, and oversight at our Conowingo and Muddy Run plants
• Review DCS trends to help maintain plant performance and reliability, including input on alarm and trip settings
• Prepare engineering deliverables such as TPAs and DCPs in accordance with applicable procedures, industry codes, and regulatory requirements
• Support other engineers across mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines as needed
• Assist with Hydro I&C craft work activities
