The Plant Operations Division is recruiting motivated individuals to perform a variety of tasks related to major and minor repairs of a wide variety of instrumentation and industrial electrical equipment. This position supports the operation and maintenance of critical water and wastewater treatment facilities.Minimum Qualifications:Instrumentation Tech IHS diploma/GEDTwo (2) years' experience in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance or process controlsValid Texas Driver's LicenseInstrumentation Tech IIHS diploma/GEDThree (3) years' experience in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance or process controlsPossession of electrical apprentice certification or Associate's degree in Instrumentation or Electrical TechnologyValid Texas Driver's LicenseSenior Instrumentation TechHS diploma/GEDFour (4) years' experience in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance or process controlsPossession of an appropriate valid journeyman electrical licenseValid Texas Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications:Possession of or the ability to obtain a (minimum) Maintenance Electrician's License within 3 years of employment required24 hour on-call duty is required, on a rotating basisAssociate's Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Technology, and/or a State Texas Journeyman or Master Electrical LicenseSkills in both instrumentation and electrical maintenanceThe Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I job responsibilities include:Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components and instrumentation pertinent to the wastewater treatment processInspect and maintain medium voltage electrical power distribution equipment (i.e. switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, selector switches, feeder cables, etc.)Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsMaintain active log of daily activities and field documentationProvide technical support to co-workers, supervisory staff and other sections within the Water Reclamation and Reuse Facility and the Water DepartmentThe Instrumentation and Electrical Technician II job responsibilities include:Same as Instrumentation and Electrical Tech IInstalls and maintains digital and analog computer control loops involving variable speed pump drives and modulating valve operationsAnalyze circuitry, interprets test data developing and implements methods for improvementTest electrical panels containing instruments such as meters and recorders, variable speed drive units and other highly technical equipmentThe Senior Instrumentation and Electrical Technician job responsibilities include:Same as Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I and IIGathers, compiles and analyzes data.
