The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while providing friendly and attentive service. This position is responsible for beverage quality, responsible alcohol service, bar cleanliness, accurate transactions, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. The ideal candidate has strong bartending experience, beverage knowledge, and a passion for hospitality. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service. Prepare beverages according to Applebee’s recipes and presentation standards. Maintain knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Recommend beverages, food pairings, and featured menu items. Use suggestive selling to promote specialty cocktails and premium selections. Verify identification and follow responsible alcohol-service requirements. Monitor guest alcohol consumption and refuse service when legally appropriate. Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready bar. Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system. Monitor liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar-supply inventory. Communicate replenishment and ordering needs to management. Prepare beverages for restaurant servers during busy periods. Complete opening, closing, stocking, cleaning, and side-work duties. Follow food-safety, sanitation, health-department, and liquor-control regulations. Address guest concerns professionally and involve management when needed. Work cooperatively with servers, kitchen associates, and hotel teams. Qualifications Previous bartending experience is required. Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and beverage preparation. Excellent guest-service and communication skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and beverage quality. Cash-handling and POS-system experience is preferred. BASSET certification or ability to obtain it upon hire. ServSafe Food Handler certification or ability to obtain it upon hire. Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Applebee’s, Marriott, hotel, or full-service restaurant experience is preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bar environment.
