Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a Level 2 NICU/NB Nursery setting. Ensure patient safety, manage fetal and maternal needs, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver quality obstetric and neonatal care.

Responsibilities:

Administer and monitor medications, including oxytocin and epidural anesthesia, ensuring adherence to protocols.
Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with various Labor & Delivery procedures.
Assess and respond to fetal and maternal conditions using monitors and clinical observation.
Support patients emotionally and educate them about labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Maintain all documentation accurately in the electronic medical record system.
Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

Possess a valid Kentucky or Compact State RN license upon submission.
Have at least 2 years of recent RN experience in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit.
Hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN.
Demonstrate strong clinical skills in obstetric procedures, including IV insertion, lab draws, and sterile vaginal exams.
Exhibit excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Be able to work every other weekend and adapt to on-call requirements.
