Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA)

Job Description

Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) – the national association representing America’s pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry is seeking a Federal Lobbyist to join our Government Affairs team . This role is responsible for representing PCMA, the PBM industry, and our member companies’ interests before Congress and with key health care policy influencers in Washington. This person will contribute to advocacy initiatives and serve as a key liaison between PCMA, its member companies, and Members of Congress and their staff. This role will work specifically with Senate Democratic offices and report to PCMA’s Chief Government Affairs Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

\n

This Federal Lobbyist role is positioned to contribute significantly to PCMA's federal advocacy efforts, while also providing leadership and expertise within the organization's federal affairs team. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, legislative acumen, and strong communication skills to advocate the PBM industry's interests effectively. Core responsibilities include:

  • Representing PCMA and the PBM industry on Capitol Hill.
  • \n
  • Collaborating with the PCMA federal affairs leadership, in strategizing, developing, and executing advocacy initiatives on Capitol Hill.
  • \n
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Congressional members and staff, enhancing PCMA's visibility and presence in the U.S. Congress and relevant executive agencies.
  • \n
  • Supporting the execution of the political giving strategy and PAC support within the industry.
  • \n
  • Acting as an interface with Congressional offices on behalf of member companies, offering legislative analysis, drafting, editing, or recommending technical assistance as needed.
  • \n
  • Staying current on legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the PBM industry, providing timely and insightful reports on congressional activity on policy priorities to PCMA members and staff.

Minimum Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • \n
  • 10+ years of healthcare policy and lobbying experience, including experience staffing a member of a health care or other relevant committee on Capitol Hill, as committee staff, or relevant advocacy experience in a related field.

Salary and Benefits

\n

PCMA offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The base salary range for this position is $225,000 - $300,000 with annual bonus potential subject to company and individual performance. PCMA offers a generous 401k contribution, healthcare and flex spending benefits and paid time off.
