Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Pilates Instructor role based in Alameda, CA. The instructor will lead safe, engaging group reformer Pilates classes across multiple levels and formats, following Club Pilates’ class programming and brand standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include cueing exercises with proper form, offering modifications and progressions, monitoring member safety, and delivering motivating, inclusive coaching. The role also involves greeting and supporting members, answering questions about classes and equipment, and collaborating with studio staff to promote memberships and retention. Instructors are expected to maintain a clean, organized studio space, participate in ongoing training, and uphold a professional, welcoming atmosphere for all members. Qualifications Strong Pilates Instruction skills, including knowledge of reformer-based and apparatus-focused exercises and safety principles. Experience leading Group Exercise classes and managing diverse fitness levels within a single session. Background or familiarity with Physical Therapy concepts, functional movement, or corrective exercise to support safe practice (formal licensure a plus but not required). Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to build rapport, respond to member needs, and contribute to a positive studio experience. Teaching skills, including clear verbal cueing, class planning, time management, and the ability to motivate and educate participants. Current comprehensive Pilates certification from a recognized program; additional specialty or group fitness certifications are beneficial. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Comfort using studio software for scheduling, member check-ins, and class management.
