Compensation Analyst

Compensation Analyst (Temp-to-Hire) Bishop & Company is seeking a detail-oriented Compensation Analyst for a temp-to-hire opportunity with one of our Honolulu-based clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, has strong Excel skills, and is interested in building a career in Human Resources and Compensation. Pay- $26.00 - $31.25 per hour, based on experience Schedule- Monday - Friday- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Start Date- Immediate opening Position Overview We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working with large volumes of employee data while maintaining strict confidentiality. Candidates with experience in HR, payroll, data analysis, compensation, or HR operations are encouraged to apply. HR Generalist experience, including exposure to performance management and job description development, is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support compensation administration activities, including salary changes, promotions, transfers, incentive payments, and related transactions Prepare, audit, and maintain compensation data within HRIS and related systems Compile, analyze, and distribute compensation reports and workforce metrics Conduct audits to ensure the accuracy and consistency of employee, job, and salary data Assist with job description maintenance and documentation processes Partner with Human Resources, Recruiting, and Payroll teams to ensure accurate processing of compensation actions Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports related to compensation, salary structures, headcount, and organizational changes Support annual compensation planning activities, including merit increases and salary reviews Maintain confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion Assist with compensation-related presentations, communications, and documentation Participate in process improvement initiatives, special projects, and system enhancements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, Compensation, HR Operations, Payroll, Finance, Data Analysis, or a related administrative role Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, sorting, filtering, and data validation Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting compensation, HRIS, payroll, HR Generalist, or HR Business Partner functions Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, UKG, ADP, or similar systems Experience creating reports and analyzing large datasets Knowledge of compensation principles, salary structures, market pricing, and job evaluation methodologies Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis functions About Bishop & Company Bishop & Company provides recruiting and placement services for client companies and opportunities for job seekers throughout Hawaii.
