Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Planner

Job Description

The Electrical Maintenance Planner creates efficient, detailed maintenance and reliability task plans for an industrial manufacturing facility. This role serves as the site’s electrical lead, developing step-by-step work plans, identifying required skills, materials, tools, and labor, and ensuring work aligns with electrical codes and best practices. The planner collaborates closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment reliability, support special projects, and lead the Certified Electrical Worker program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site’s Electrical Lead and act as the primary point of contact for electrical maintenance planning activities.
• Create detailed, task-specific maintenance and reliability plans that outline the steps, sequence, estimated time, required tools, and parts needed to complete each job.
• Identify and document the required skill sets, certifications, and competencies necessary to safely and effectively perform each step of planned work.
• Lead and manage the site Certified Electrical Worker program, including designing, scheduling, and performing Annual Field Audits.
• Lead special projects related to electrical systems, reliability improvements, and equipment upgrades across the facility.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with electrical and mechanical maintenance teams, supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to align plans with production needs.
• Research and collaborate with technicians and vendors to identify replacement solutions for obsolete parts and components.
• Redesign partial or complete systems when required to accommodate obsolete part replacement or design changes.
• Ensure all planned work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Use predictive maintenance practices and work order systems to prioritize, schedule, and track maintenance activities.
• Support multi-craft maintenance efforts by planning work that integrates both electrical and mechanical tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of plans, materials, and work histories to support continuous improvement of maintenance processes.

Essential Skills

• Former industrial electrician experience with strong understanding of electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and reliability-focused tasks.
• Hands-on experience with schedule planning and maintenance planning activities.
• Knowledge and practical understanding of electrical codes and their application in industrial settings.
• Experience working as part of a multi-craft maintenance team, coordinating electrical and mechanical work.
• Ability to develop predictive maintenance plans and manage work orders effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Clear and persuasive verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to respond well to questions and employ active listening.
• Ability to interface effectively with customers, vendors, contractors, and leaders.
• Proficiency in standard office software, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong planning and decision-making skills with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting Certified Electrical Worker programs or similar safety/compliance initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with vendors to identify and qualify replacement components for obsolete parts.
• Capability to redesign partial or complete electrical systems to accommodate new components or improved designs.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on special projects and reliability improvements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
