Additional Information

We are looking for a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified General Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Arizona. This role involves holiday call coverage at a Level III Trauma Center, featuring a manageable patient load and a well-established support team.

Coverage Dates

November 26-30, 2026
December 22, 2026 - January 4, 2027

Clinical Responsibilities

Providing general surgery call coverage
Conducting inpatient consultations and admissions
Managing acute general surgery cases surgically
Performing endoscopy procedures as required
Daily rounding duties

Required Experience

Applicants should be proficient in the following:

Laparoscopic surgeries
Appendectomies
Cholecystectomies
Hernia repairs
Upper and lower endoscopy
Chest tube placements
Central line placements
General trauma surgery management

Qualifications

MD or DO degree
Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
Active Arizona medical license or eligibility under IMLC
ACLS certification
ATLS certification

Assignment Details

In-house call coverage
Approximately 5 patient encounters daily
About 2 admissions each day
30-minute response time requirement
