We offer the opportunity to work on complex systems that push what’s possible in air traffic management including drone technology with room to grow in both technical and team-leading roles.Your RoleAs an On-site Integrator Engineer you will take end-to-end ownership of platform deployment, integration, and validation for critical systems. This is a permanent full-time position and involves regular travel across Australia to deploy and integrate subsystems at customer sites.This hands-on, technical role involves:Onsite hardware and software deployment (racks, switches, servers) and troubleshootingAutomating deployments using Ansible, Jenkins, Python, and CI/CD pipelinesValidating Thales-developed operating systems and subsystems before handover to validation teamsCollaborating with cross-functional teams (network, cybersecurity, DevOps) to resolve complex issuesEnsuring compliance with functional, performance, security, and robustness requirementsIdeal for engineers who enjoy fixing systems, automating workflows, and thriving in dynamic environmentsKey Responsibilities:Install, configure, and validate Thales operating systems and subsystems on-siteEnsure seamless integration of 6-8 subsystems into Thales-developed environmentsConduct integration testing, performance assessments, and security checksResolve Linux/Unix, Windows, and virtualized environment issues (VMWare, Proxmox)Use Wireshark, Zabbix, and scripting (Python/Shell) for diagnosticsLeverage Ansible playbooks, CI/CD pipelines, and Git for efficient deploymentsAutomate system administration tasks and test/measurement toolsWork with hardware teams, validation teams, and remote support to ensure system readinessProduce integration test reports, risk assessments, and knowledge-sharing artifactsUphold Thales’ OHSE policiesYour Experience On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:2+ years integrating complex software-centric real-time systems Linux/Unix expertise (VMWare, SNMP, RSYSLOG) and Windows administrationScripting (Python, Shell) and automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins).Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP) and debugging toolsExperience with C++, Java, or GoFamiliarity AI-driven automation highly regardedProblem-solving mindset, you thrive in dynamic, on-site environmentsStrong communication skills to explain technical issues to diverse stakeholdersTeam player to collaborate across global teams with a curious and accountable approachDomestic travel is mandatory as part of the roleAustralian Defence Roles & Security A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.It’s easy to dismiss the perfect opportunity if you don’t see yourself as the perfect fit.
