Ultrasound Technician RoleUpperline Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) to join our team. The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in evaluating and diagnosing medical conditions. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.This position will be on-site and traveling between our Munster, Hobart, and Valparaiso clinics.Ultrasound Technician ResponsibilitiesOperate and calibrate ultrasound equipment to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging proceduresConduct general sonographic examinations according to established protocolsReview patient medical histories and explain imaging procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfortPrepare examination rooms and patients for ultrasound proceduresAssist Radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsiesCapture and document images or videos of anatomical structures and potential abnormalitiesNotify appropriate medical personnel immediately of any concerning or abnormal findingsAssess patients to determine appropriate diagnostic protocols and imaging techniquesMaintain, clean, and troubleshoot sonography equipment, reporting any malfunctions or equipment failuresPerform scan tests and ensure accurate imaging results for physician reviewManage multiple patients, appointments, and priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environmentWork independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staffMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety standardsOther related duties as deemed necessary by Upperline HealthUltrasound Technician QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related fieldCertification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience in outpatient or clinic experience requiredExperience performing general ultrasound examinationsStrong knowledge of sonographic equipment, imaging procedures, and patient assessment techniquesAbility to acquire accurate medical histories and facilitate positive patient experiencesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsStrong attention to detail and critical thinking abilitiesBasic computer and medical record documentation skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is requiredExceptional customer service skillsReliable transportation is requiredCompensationCompensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.Job Type: Full-timeEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
