Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

- Providing behavioral health support for those experiencing homelessness
- Lowering barriers to behavioral health for youth and adults who have had challenges accessing quality care
- Specialists in serving the needs of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities
- A family of caring and compassionate providers dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in our community
Location: Bellevue, WA
Schedule: Monday-Tuesday (In-Office) 8:00am-4:30pm.
Work Type: Wednesday-Friday (Hybrid) evening work required.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBLITIES: Serves as the primary contact with participants; responsible for screenings, evaluations, assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual, group, and family counseling. Provides program information and facilitates referrals to outside resources.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS : Reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF WORK :
- Provides ongoing evaluation of individuals through the collection and synthesis of bio-psychosocial information from participants, families, referral sources, peers, and others as appropriate.
- Provides individual and group counseling services to individuals enrolled in programs at THS and/or its affiliates.
- Serves as leader or co-leader of therapy groups.
- Performs intake interviews/assessments as required.
- Develops and implements treatment plans and concurrent treatment plan reviews reflective of the participant’s “voice”.
- Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation including screening, assessment, intake, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, letters, referrals, and discharge summaries of terminated participants.
- Demonstrates competencies that reflect current standards of substance use disorder professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professional practice.
- Able to perform clinical work in an efficient and competent manner and works to achieve THS productivity and quality standards.
- Provides advocacy, case management, information and referral services, and wrap-around services in an outpatient setting.
- Consult as needed with medical director, psychiatrist, ARNP, or mental health clinician on ongoing cases, screening, and treatment planning.
- Assists in resolving participant’s issues, as they relate to staffing decisions. Follows through on staffing recommendations for participants.
- Establishes a working relationship with all probation, parole, and other court-related personnel as appropriate.
- Possesses a working knowledge of drug treatment facilities and treatment modalities in King County and throughout Washington State.
- Able to work with diverse populations.
- Maintains all participant files in a professional and efficient manner according to procedures outlined in the THS clinical manuals and consistent with applicable WAC (Washington Administrative Code), RCW’s (Revised Code of Washington), Federal guidelines, and CARF standards (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).
- Attends and participates in supervision with immediate supervisor.
- Must be able to maintain confidences and handle highly confidential materials.
- Ability to be an effective team player. Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and must possess tact, integrity, and sound decision making.
- Maintains a professional image within the community at all times.
- Places professional ethics and integrity before personalities of participant, co-workers or the professional community.
- Facilitate virtual group and individual sessions for evening program needs.
- Serve on THS committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :
- Associates degree in Social Services/Sciences or related field, plus two years’ experience in counseling, case evaluation and staffing presentations and record keeping OR Associate Degree plus three years’ experience in counseling.
- Maintain Substance Use Disorder Professional certification per WAC (Washington Administrative Code) and possess the SUDP credential.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in chemical dependency, family dynamics, and counseling.
- Drug-free and out of treatment for a minimum of three years immediately prior to employment and no misuse of alcohol or drugs while employed as a Chemical Dependency Professional.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer proficiency required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be willing and able to administer basic First Aid, CPR, AED for medical emergencies, and Naloxone for suspected overdose. Must also be able and willing to follow basic safety protocols such as calling 911 and alerting medical personnel on staff.
- Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings
- Ability to use a computer and telephone, as well as other standard office equipment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use fingers, hands, and arms
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds
- Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, and standing are required
- Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary
- Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
