Technical Project Manager

About The Company McCabe's Mechanical is a well-established fabrication and mechanical services company supporting the food processing industry since 1998. They design, build, install, and maintain custom equipment - primarily conveyor systems and mechanical infrastructure - inside poultry and food processing plants. In simple terms: They keep food processing plants running - building, installing, and fixing the equipment that drives production. The Opportunity McCabe's is hiring a Technical Project Manager to play a critical role in both project execution and revenue generation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll manage projects end-to-end - from initial customer interaction and estimating through installation and completion - while also helping drive new business. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Sales Engineering Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and customer walkthroughs Review layouts, specs, and production lines to define scope Estimate labor, materials, and timelines for projects Develop pricing and create customer proposals Support customer discussions, answer technical questions, and help close work Ensure estimates align with target margins and profitability goals Project Management / Execution Manage projects from order through final installation Coordinate: Engineering/design resources Materials and equipment Fabrication schedules Field labor and crews Oversee field execution, including installations and shutdown work Serve as the primary point of contact for customers Handle project documentation, permitting, and change orders What You Bring Must-Have Experience in fabrication, conveyors, material handling, or food processing equipment Background in project management, field execution, or installations Ability to read and interpret blueprints / technical drawings Comfortable working directly with customers and field teams Willingness to travel (~50%) for projects and site visits Open to a hybrid role (project management + sales) Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Experience in poultry, beef, pork, or food processing industries Estimating / quoting experience Background with: Mechanical contractors Millwright services Food processing OEMs AutoCAD or design exposure Team & Culture Small, tight-knit team with high visibility and accountability Fast-paced, hands-on environment - not a desk-only role Strong collaboration between shop, field, and customer teams Culture built on: Ownership Urgency Problem-solving Location & Travel Ideal: Based near Georgetown, DE Travel required across the Eastern U.S. (OH to Southeast to Northeast) Why This Role Join a company with a strong reputation and repeat customer base Be part of a business expected to grow 3-5x in the coming years High visibility and direct impact on projects and revenue Opportunity to own your work from start to finish #J-18808-Ljbffr Grote Company
