Summary Supervises all EMU employees, including technical and human resource issues, monitors daily operational activities, staffing schedules, policy and procedures, employee education, along with quality improvement initiatives. Investigates technical and equipment issues and patient service issues. Responsible for all ODH and regulatory activities and surveys. Responsible for all safety and JC requirements related to ambulatory care. Performs EMU Technologist duties as needed. Possesses extensive experience recognizing and managing seizures in Phases I and Phase II epilepsy patients. Simultaneous EEG and video recording of seizures and various procedures make the role more significantly demanding. Performs basic and complex electrophysiological recording. Functions in both the clinical and surgical setting in Summa Health Epilepsy Center's future growth. Formal Education Required Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program OR Associate’s Degree in Allied Health or Natural Sciences OR training in a 2 year Neurodiagnostic educational program. Experience & Training Required Three (3) year’s increasingly responsible experience as a full-time hospital based Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist which has provided leadership skills; experience in Video Long Term Monitoring (LTM) strongly preferred. ABRET registry with R.EEG T. credentials or related credential (CNIM, CLTM, R.EP T., etc) CPR/BLS certification One (1) year previous experience as a Lead Technologist or Supervisor preferred. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications Ability to work unassisted; responds to calls on various shifts. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and written communication to effectively interact with all customers. Ability to work collaboratively with all hospital personnel and departments. Ability to concentrate on moderate detail with occasional/frequent interruption. Ability to understand and relate to specific ideas, generally several at a time, and remember multiple tasks given to self and by others over the work day. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. Level of Physical Demands: Extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, carts, and wheelchairs. Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
