Position Summary
Anadarko Indian Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide outpatient nursing services in a primary care clinic setting. The LPN will work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care to a diverse patient population.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of LPN licensure.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and assessments.
- Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as prescribed.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient care activities.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and preventive health measures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Monitor patient conditions and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate patient care activities and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Participate in clinic quality improvement and patient care initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Active and unrestricted LPN license.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Minimum of one year of outpatient, clinic, primary care, or related nursing experience.
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Preferred
- Experience working in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
- Previous Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal Health, or Federal healthcare experience.
