Job Title

Registered Nurse – Radiation Oncology (Clinic)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Four 10-hour shifts per week, weekdays

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and provide appropriate nursing interventions for actual or potential problems related to disease process, treatment course, and follow-up period
• Collaborate with the Radiation Oncology Team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
• Provide teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to assist patients and families in coping with and adjusting to a cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Assist the Radiation Oncologist in the evaluation and examination of patients
• Serve as a liaison between Radiation Oncology and other departments, physician groups, and community support organizations
• Assess and coordinate appropriate referrals for alternative resources including rehabilitation, hospice, nursing home care, and nutritional services

Required Qualifications

• Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience specifically in Radiation Oncology (Radiation Oncology experience required; Medical Oncology experience alone does not qualify)
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members both verbally and in writing
• Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Knowledge of the latest evidence-based practices in oncology, immunology, pharmacology, and community health
• Experience providing care to patients across varying age groups, developmental stages, and cultural backgrounds
• Familiarity with chronic illness and comorbidity management within an oncology setting
