Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for posting payments received from customers and reconciling cash receipts daily.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Posts payments received from customers, accurately and timely.
• Resolves payment problems/ discrepancies in a timely manner. Evaluates and documents the issue or problem for the department.
• Reconcile the cash receipts daily to ensure all is in balance and accounted for within the receiving and posting process.
• Accurately files all customer files.
• Answer inquiries from customers and company personnel regarding payment applications. Provide detailed supporting documentation as required.
• Return messages or inquiries for information requested in a timely basis.
• Place collection calls for specified past due accounts as directed.
• Perform any other duties defined by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of general accounting/cash processing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree in business, accounting or related field a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and priorities management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel
• Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs.
• Long periods spent sitting at desk in front of computer screen.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in an office environment.
