Material Handling Specialist

Job DetailsJob Location: West Salt Lake City, UT 84104Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $17.50 - $17.50 HourlyJob Shift: Any Key Responsibilities: Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, ingredients, and packaging components using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand. Supply production lines with necessary materials in a timely manner to prevent downtime. Ensure all materials are correctly labeled, stored, and rotated (FIFO) to maintain product quality and food safety compliance. Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of quantities, item descriptions, and lot numbers. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory processes. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), 5S/6S standards, and food safety procedures at all times. Keep all work areas clean and organized, performing routine housekeeping tasks and disposing of waste properly. Collaborate with the production and quality teams to ensure material traceability and compliance. Report damaged goods, safety hazards, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors immediately. Operate warehouse equipment safely and complete equipment checklists when required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment is a plus. Basic math and inventory counting skills. Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety guidelines, and material labels in English. Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods of time. Comfortable working in cold, hot, humid, or dusty environments based on product zones. Must be able to operate forklifts or pallet jacks (training/certification provided if necessary). Work Environment: Fast-paced production and warehouse areas. Exposure to food ingredients, allergens, and sanitation chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
