Quality Control Inspector Hourly: $23.00 - $33.00 Monday - Friday / 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Long Island City Job Description Performed quality control inspections on parts and sub-assemblies of rail cars, ensuring conformance to quality standards and identifying non-conformance. Conducted visual inspections according to engineering drawings, written procedures, and instructions, using various measuring equipment such as scales, tape, calipers, micrometers, and combination squares. Recorded data and findings accurately and maintained inspection reports. Demonstrated excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to use both English and Metric systems. Inspection Phases Receiving Part Fabrication Metal Matching Sub Assembly Shell Assembly Truck Assembly & Test Interior and Cab Exterior Under-floor Source Job Specifications Minimum two (2) years of QC inspection experience. Ability to work independently and conduct final inspection of an entire rail car. Proficient with measuring instruments including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc. Read, write, and speak English and capable of reading engineering drawings (blueprints). Proficient in the English measurement system and able to learn the Metric system within a specified period.
