# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (ACE Unit) – South Carolina

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required; Must work 2 of the 3 holidays; 12-hour shifts; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit specializing in telemetry-capable care for patients aged 65 and older
• Work alongside specially trained Geriatric Resource Nurses focused on preserving cognitive and physical function
• Epic charting system in a 641-bed Level I Adult Trauma Center and regional teaching medical center
• Multidisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• Travel assignment with first-time travelers accepted; pre-assignment modules are billable up to 16 hours
• Professional development opportunity with 12 hours of paid orientation

Requirements:

• Active South Carolina or multistate compact RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical skills including IV starts, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, and heparin protocols
• Experience with geriatric-focused care preferred
• Must meet distance requirements: 100+ miles from facility (some exceptions apply for specific shift/specialty combinations)
