REMOTE Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data EngineerWME is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own, support, and modernize its enterprise SQL data ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone with deep SQL Server expertise who enjoys balancing hands-on database administration with strategic modernization initiatives. While the position carries a Data Engineer title, the primary focus is on SQL database ownership, performance, high availability, disaster recovery, and long-term modernization planning. This is not an AI/ML engineering role and does not own BI reporting or dashboard development. Instead, the role is responsible for the data platforms, databases, and pipelines that enable analytics and reporting across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL Server DBA expertise with modern data engineering experience. They are comfortable maintaining and optimizing existing systems while helping guide an organization's evolution toward cloud-native platforms.
