Test Automation Engineer (Experienced or Senior)

Test Automation Engineer (Experienced or Senior) Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is seeking a Test Automation Engineer for our Precision Engagement Systems Team based in Sylmar, CA. Spectrolab is the world’s leading supplier of high‑efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems. Position Responsibilities Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity. Support (level 3) or lead (level 4) development of test systems; improve systems according to lessons learned. Design calibration system, test fixtures, and build data‑processing tools and algorithms. Develop calibration procedures and software; guide others in hardware, software, and system design to achieve test requirements. Support or oversee debriefing of the test team, and analyze, process, and format data to customer requirements. Confirm test data prior to delivery to customer; formulate expectations for test data based on historical data. Ensure calibration system readiness and data validity. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) 3+ years of related experience in test automation engineering. Experience programming in LabVIEW. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline. Export Control compliance—requirement of a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15. Willingness to relocate within the Sylmar, CA area or ability to relocate at own expense if not within commuting distance. Basic knowledge of version control (Git, SVN), continuous integration, and ticketing systems (JIRA). Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) 3+ years of experience for level 3; 5+ years for level 4. Advanced LabVIEW programming for automated testing. Proficiency in TestStand, Python, C#, C/C++, MATLAB, and other related tools. Experience troubleshooting software–hardware integration and electro‑mechanical systems. Test systems design and software validation experience. Experience with electronic test equipment (PXI, DAQmx, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, etc.). Experience with version control (Git, SVN), continuous integration, and ticketing systems (JIRA). Experience with automated test frameworks (ATLAS, LabWindows/CVI, TestComplete). Familiarity with real‑time systems, FPGA integration, or embedded RTOS. Knowledge of aerospace, defense, or regulated industry standards (DO‑178, DO‑254, MIL‑STD). Experience with environmental test chambers, vibration, shock, and thermal cycling. Export Control Requirement This position requires U.S. export control compliance.
