Responsibilities and Duties

• Welcome guests upon their arrival with warmth and enthusiasm, ensuring they feel anticipated and valued.
• Manage reservations and maintain an organized waitlist, ensuring efficient seating and optimal guest flow.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times, keeping them informed of any changes.
• Coordinate table assignments, taking into consideration special requests and specific dining needs.
• Offer menu highlights, daily specials, and inform guests about ongoing promotions as they wait.
• Assist servers and bussers in setting up tables, ensuring all items meet the Latitude 44 standard of presentation and readiness.
• Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly, always aiming for optimal guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless transitions between guest arrival and seating.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and ensure all materials (like menus, promotional flyers) are up-to-date.
• Manage incoming calls, take reservations, and answer questions related to dining at Latitude 44.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience as a host in a fine-dining or upscale casual dining establishment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and seating dynamics.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a warm and welcoming demeanor.
• Must be adaptable, open to feedback, and dedicated to continuous personal growth and improvement.
• Proficiency in using reservation software and handling phone systems.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A passion for hospitality, creating inviting atmospheres, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and may occasionally be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
